George Dewey Higgins 59 died early this morning at Cheyenne County Memorial Hospital after a heart attack at home Easter Sunday. A Sidney resident for 29 years, he previously lived in Chappell since 1929. He worked 35 years in the maintenance department of the State department of roads and irrigation. Funeral services set for 10 am Monday at Christ Episcopal Church. burial in Greenwood Cemetery under Gehrig and Son Funeral Home. Memorials suggested to Heart Fund. Survivors include wife Evelyn, daughter Mrs Kenneth Bales, two grandsons, sisters Mrs Pearl Thompson and Mrs Etta Hummel, and brother Arthur Higgins, all of Lincoln.

Accident Ticket Issued After Car Truck Collision
Officer Felix Koenig of the Nebraska Patrol reported an accident about 3 miles north of Sidney on Highway 19. A pickup driven by Bert Smith, owned by Albert Leach, stopped to help a ditched car. Richard H. Brabo of Bayard struck the stopped pickup. Brabo’s car sustained $450 damage while the pickup remained undamaged. The pickup driver was cited for lack of Nebraska driver's license.
