Petroleum Inc reports No. 1 Slama well in Slama Field north of Potter reached pay zone in the J sand from 5401 to 10 feet. Completion work awaits cable tools to pursue commercial production. Cheyenne County remains a busy explorer area with 19 drilling notices filed in Nebraska last week.

Pine Bluffs Lad Dies In Denver Of Rare Disease

Jurors Summoned For Final Spring Case In Cheyenne County

Twenty six jurors will be summoned April 24 to appear April 27 in Cheyenne County District Court for the final jury case of the spring term. Clerk Ruby Spindler says District Judge John H. Kuns of Kimball will preside over one civil case.

Lyle Rabe To Head Group Six Bankers Assn

Science Fair Draws 1200 At Public School Event

More than 1,200 people attended the school science fair on Friday, about 300 more than last year. Exhibits expanded beyond the solar system to include electricity nature and several projects with moving parts.

Police Investigate Two Minor Sidney Accidents

Sidney police looked into two minor Saturday traffic incidents with no injuries. Virginia Baker’s car sustained about 35 dollars in damage after colliding with L. C. Barstow’s car as Barstow backed from a curb on 7th Ave near Illinois. A separate intersection crash at 12th and Linden around 1 45 p.m. involved Frances Stone and Connie Hill. No charges were filed.

Man Turns Self In On Check Charge

Deputy Sheriff Kermit Brumbaugh planned to take Harlan Scott of Sterling to Sidney for bad check charges. Scott surrendered at the Kearney sheriff's office as reported by the local sheriff's department.

Sidney Man Slated To Assume District Rotary Governorship

Clark Fuller of Sidney, a longtime farmer and Rotarian, is set to become District 563 Governor at the Ogallala convention this Friday and Saturday after his sole opponent withdrew. Fuller, a former club president, led a foreign exchange student program and is part of a prominent western Nebraska farming family with roots in Morrill County.

Sidneyite Fined on No Fund Check Charge

Dale Busboom of Sidney pleaded guilty to issuing a no fund check and was fined 50 dollars plus costs in Cheyenne County Court before Judge C. W. Smith Monday. He had been charged with a one thousand dollar no fund check and promised restitution to the authorities.

Harold Pa's manager of the Mc Cormick Farm Equipment Store and Hugh Booth salesman attended in Denver for the new International Bline trucks unveiling. Dealers and store managers from New Mexico Colorado Nebraska Utah and Wyoming joined as many new models were announced including chassis sizes and improvements on light and medium duty trucks. Warm Up Expected After Snow Flurries

After three days of periodic snow flurries, Sidney warms to 38 degrees and tops 65 by Tuesday. The forecast calls for near normal temps through Saturday with 60s to low 30s. Governor Ralph Brooks offered Jack Obbink 39 the State Aeronautics Director post in Lincoln. The job pays 10200 a year. Director Rolland Harr resigns effective May 1. Obbink, a University of Nebraska graduate, has led aviation efforts in Nebraska since 1946 and owns an airplane with the Lincoln Aviation Institute.
