Soil Bank Contracts Take Effect April 15
Farmers who signed or expect to sign 1959 Soil Bank Conservation Reserve contracts were reminded this week that the contracts take effect April 15 in most cases. If a conservation practice starts on the land before April 15 the contract begins when use starts. After a contract takes effect the farmer must not graze livestock or harvest a crop from the Soil Bank tract.

Snow and Ice Blamed for Three One Car Mishaps
Three separate one car accidents were reported by the Sidney State Safety Patrol Thursday. Slippery roads caused all, with no injuries. A 17 year old Sidney girl Marilyn Kurz escaped harm when her car left the road and overturned five miles southwest of Sidney at about 8 am. Damage around 100 dollars. Walter Ebel of Chugwater Wyoming skid 70 feet into a ditch and rolled over. Damages about 50 dollars. Eileen M. Hoke of Brooklyn escaped injury when her car hit a ditch and fence near Sidney on US 30 at 8:45 am. Damages about 50 dollars to the car and 50 dollars to the fence.

Three Car Crash Hospitalizes Three Near Potter
Slippery road conditions from snow and ice caused a three car collision about two miles east of Potter on A. s, injuring three passengers. Mrs Gladys Sertramson 67 of Potter suffered multiple fractures and possible concussion. Others injured were Mrs Ethel Dickerson 46 of Sand Lake Mich and Walter Wiegers of Dalton. Damages were estimated at 800 500 and 175 to 200 respectively. The Dickersons continued to Wyoming after treatment.

Porter Girl Is Hurt Crushed By Tractor
Three year old Valeria Kasten of Potter was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when a tractor ran over her. She was taken to Kimball County hospital for blood transfusions and treatment for broken facial bones including a broken jaw. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Leonard Kasten of Potter. The girl was transferred to a Cheyenne hospital Tuesday.

Fred Vach 57 Found Dead in Cheyenne County
Fred Vach age 57, longtime Cheyenne County resident, was found dead in bed late Thursday afternoon, seemingly of a heart attack. He worked on the George Card farm about nine miles southwest of Sidney and was discovered by neighbor Verlin Livingston. Funeral arrangements are pending at Gehrig and Son Funeral Home.

Ovid Man Fined For Drunken Driving Plea
