Re elected Wright and Scanlon new trustee joins board

The village electorate saw D J Scanlon win election to the village board while C M Wright secured the other seat. Five other candidates trailed with Geo Fast and J T McIntosh among listed names. Easter services were satisfactory with missionary emphasis and subscriptions totaling 106 dollars. The First National Bank reported a creditable quarterly statement.

Robert Gunderson and Miss Lizzie Asche were married Wednesday evening at the groom’s parents home four miles east of Potter. Rev. J Leamer of Sidney officiated as a large company witnessed the ceremony and sent wishes with many presents. The groom, a Cheyenne county native now ranching in Kimball county, serves as a county commissioner. The bride is a popular Kimball county resident. The Telegraph joins in best wishes for a long, happy life.

Episcopal Church Officers Elected at Christ Church

The annual meeting of Christ Episcopal Church elected the Vestry for the coming year. W P Miles was senior warden, A D Stewitts junior warden, L J Taylor secretary, R D Harris treasurer. Mrs A D Stowitts and Mrs W F Bassett also joined the Vestry as lady representatives. Guild officers named include Mrs A W Atkins president and Mrs W D Clifton vice president.

Illness worsens for Will Stubs. moved to Omaha Hospital

Will Stubs, long-ill with stomach trouble, relapsed Sunday and grew seriously ill. Doctors Barber of Cheyenne and Simon attended. He was taken to Omaha yesterday with brother Ernest, to be confined at St. Joseph Hospital for a time.

East Lynne Notes Mix of Winds and Local Arrivals

High winds disrupted telephone lines making secrecy risky. Miss Justina Whitehead, Potter Schools principal, visited Sidney with local friends. C J Jackson of Kearney sought Kearney Milling Co interests and met Mayor Sanders. Maccabees added seven members. Henry Snyder named state Grand Lodge delegate. Bishop Graves led confirmation for seventeen candidates. Dan McAleese returned from Ireland and New York with updates. Will Chowins checked on sister Lillie, ill for months and worsening.

Examinations passed through here this week. Barbara Kuchera has left the High School. Mrs W I Hiett visited in room three Friday afternoon. Ira Cline back after a brief absence. The ninth grades study Evangeline. Rev J S Leamer visited Tuesday. Ava Gates and Hazel King in the country. Eugene Cramer missed from school working for his father. Clarabelle Oberfelder absent from ninth grade to Omaha. Lynn Clark absent sick in second primary. County Supt pleasant caller last Friday. School Board gave scholars a Thursday treat with two o clock dismissal. Earl Gates absent this week visiting the country. Bessie Jones left school this week for the country. Sidney Junior Baseball club to play Kimball Schools nine April 16.
