450 Minutemen Ready For Firing Wing At Minot
The Strategic Air Command completed the third Minuteman wing at Minot Air Force Base bringing total combat ready missiles to 450. Each wing holds 150 missiles in reinforced silos with two other wings at Malstrom and Ellsworth AFB. By next year 200 more missiles should be in place across western Nebraska southeastern Wyoming and northeastern Colorado as Boeing begins assembly and checkout.
