In the United States the Walter Brandon Thomas estate retains rights until 1991, as the work was not copyrighted there until 1935. Publishers To Cooperate In The Use Of ZIP Code

Postmaster General John A Gronouski announced that publishers and mail advertising industry reps pledged full cooperation to present mailings by ZIP Code as early as possible before January 1 1967. The decision removes a July 1 1966 deadline, citing technical problems, and emphasizes voluntary compliance to improve service and save the Postal Service.
