Glenn Sylvester Ackerson, 8, died at his home April 3 of a heart attack. Funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p m from the First Methodist Church in Sidney with Rev. John Stayton officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Sidney Schools will be dismissed at 1:40 p m Tuesday for the funeral.

Richard Ackherson, longtime Sidney High School teacher and former coach, died after a life in Nebraska teaching at Burwell Trenton Hemingford and Broken Bow before 17 years at Sidney High. Born October 19 1906 in Red Cloud Neb to Rollie and Elizabeth Ackerson, he served 37th Infantry in the Pacific during World War II and is survived by wife Silva two sons Richard and Stanley his mother and siblings. Burial is at Greenwood Cemetery with arrangements by Craig Mortuary.

Don’t Give Up Yet On Sioux Depot Visit
State Senator George Fleming says he hasn't given up on a Sioux Army Depot inspection by the Unicameral Education Committee and other legislators. Fogged-in planes at Lincoln delayed last Saturday's trip, but Fleming plans a delegation possibly this Saturday or after Easter April 20 with one or two trips if needed. The Unicameras face a spring vacation April 15-20 and were disappointed by weather cancellations.

Bayard Resident Dies In Sidney
Samuel J. Cross, 74, died Friday evening in Sidney of an apparent heart attack while en route to Denver. A Bayard resident for 47 years, he served as county commissioner and was married in 1911 to Lou Ely. Survivors include two daughters, a son, and a sister. Gehrig and Son Funeral Home of Sidney handled arrangements.

Darrin Eugene Jobman infant son of Vernon and [Mrs.] Jobman died five hours after birth on April 4 in Dalton. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Police Report Stolen Tires at Deluxe Motel
City police reported Saturday that two 9:00-20 truck tires and wheels were stolen from a truck parked at the Deluxe Motel. The theft was reported at 7:01 Saturday morning. No further information is available at present.

Four men arrested last Thursday face district court hearings after being charged with the theft of a convertible owned by James Weible of Dalton. William R. Carey 22 Hemingford Bill Reynold Son 18 Albion Gary Larson 18 Gurley and Donald Keen 23 Grand Island each posted 1000 appearance bonds. The theft occurred about 1:30 am Tuesday in Dalton with witnesses noting the car being pushed at that time. Sheriff W W Schulz noted the local hill country north of Dalton as the likely scene. Carey and Larson also face a burglary charge for a Dalton Cecil's Mobile Station breakin.

Bert E. Allington 87 died at his home north of Sund Friday after years of ill health. He lived in Cheyenne county for 177 years and will have services April 6 at 10 a.m. Gehrig and Son Funeral Home with James Parker officiating. Born March 4, 1878 in Washington County Iowa, he later moved with family via railroad car to North Platte then to Kansas before settling in Cheyenne County near Lodgepole.

Prominent Deuel County Farmer Dies On Friday
Frank Trump, 89, a well known retired Deuel County farmer from Chappell, died Friday at Miller Memorial Hospital after about a week’s hospitalization. Services were held Monday at the Chappell Methodist Church. Burial followed in Chappell Cemetery under Zimmer Funeral Home direction. A native of Ohio, he came to Nebraska as a young man. Surviving: seven children Clyde Otho Glen Ethel Pruss Jessie Harkey Ben Cecil. 34 grandchildren. 95 great grandchildren. nine great great grandchildren.
