Record wheat program signups top 780 thousand farms
The 1965 fall sign-up for the wheat program reaches 780 916 farms in predominantly winter wheat areas, with 34 848 504 acres allotted. The signup period ran Aug 24 to Oct 2, and gains over the 1964 and 1963 enrollments are highlighted. Timing for spring wheat and feed grain sign-ups is set for Feb 8 to Mar 26, 1965.
