Elementary Students Hold Book Fair at Shepherd

About 445 pupils from grades two through six took part in a Book Fair on November 6 and 9 sponsored by the Shepherd P T A and teachers. Books were purchased from Educational Reading Service of New Jersey and MacGregor News Service. Teacher chairmen and parent volunteers assisted, with the event available to parents during conference days.

Michigan Farm Bureau Annual Meeting Set For November 10 12

Michigan Farm Bureau will hold its 45th annual meeting at Michigan State University East Lansing November 10 11 12 drawing about 2000 farmers and 700 voting delegates to discuss policy on taxation marketing foreign trade and education. Governor Romney will speak November 11 as part of a three day program with other officials and experts.

Census Aims to Reach Isabella County Farmers for 1964 Forms

Questionnaires for the 1964 Census of Agriculture are mailed to Isabella County farmers. Enumerators will visit farms starting November 9 to assist with questions and ensure accurate reporting of farms, crops, livestock, equipment, and inputs. Local groups are urged to adopt families for Christmas aid, with about 150 families targeted.

Membership award marks 1964 effort at Au Gres meeting

Daryl Brown and 8215 Post leaders joined 11 District at Au Gres on Sunday November 1. Elton Grace received the Michigan Membership Pin from District Commander Thompson for securing 30 members including new reinstated and continuing members for 1964. Post and Auxiliary provided a dinner. next district meeting is planned for Mio in February with Post visitor Ernie Stratachuk.
