The Shepherd Jaycees elected officers at the Kitchenette dining room last Thursday evening naming Roger Stowell as President Ray Zimmermann Internal Vice President Kim Swenson External Vice President Jim Nestle Treasurer John Williams Secretary Jim Parsons State Director Donald Arnst Director and Terry Foote Director. Robert Garber Jr retires as president.

Shepherd plans a limited Michigan Week starting Sunday May 17 with Spiritual Foundations Day among churches. On Monday May 18 Our Government Day features a Mayor exchange with Oxford Michigan leaders visiting Shepherd at 10 30 to be greeted by Mrs Marilyn Swagger and the Village Council. The day includes a welcome at Shepherd State Bank with a Key To The Village presentation and the Shepherd High School Cadet Band under Claude Lemmer.

Three Candidates File For Shepherd Board Of Education
At the filing deadline of May 9 three candidates joined the race for the Shepherd Board of Education. Dr. Howard Dearing John Wilberding and Glen Bellanger filed petitions. The June 8 election also includes three operating millage votes and a 770000 bonding measure for a new elementary and a junior high. Registration closed May 11. A May 14 public meeting at 8 00 P M in the high school gym will update progress and invite citizen input.
