Lowell Showboat directors invite amateur entertainers from the Mid-West for the annual Talent Night on July 13 at the Showboat stadium in Lowell Michigan. About 7 000 spectators expected. Six acts will advance to the main show July 22 to 28 with judges selecting finalists. Preliminary auditions July 13 at Runciman Auditorium.
The Broomfield Memorial Comvalesce Hospital Auxiliary met Tuesday June 4 with president Anna Howay presiding. They will not meet in July. a potluck dinner is planned August 6 at Island Park. Members of the Joe Alsh Auxiliary assisted in installing Borley Hanel officers with Ida Coomer as installing officer.
A breakfast in her honor was hosted at the Methodist Church for Mrs. Sylvia Bush before she and Mr. Bush move to Frazersburg Ohio. Twenty six guests attended as the W.S.C.S. presented a gift in appreciation of her years in Shepherd since 1946.
Ten graduates from Isabella County were among Ferris Institute's 700 plus seniors receiving degrees or certificates at the June 9 commencement. Edward L. Cushman of American Motors Corp delivered the address before about 6 000 graduates, parents and friends. Richard Frick certificate mechanical drafting and Gerald Hovey certificate machine tool, both of Rosebush. Wanda Allen associate applied science commercial art, Robert Duncan B S Pharmacy of Shepherd.
Three cars carried members and friends to Mrs Vivian Lyons summer cottage at Dodge Lake for a picnic dinner and afternoon meeting. All attendees reported a pleasant day with a delicious dinner and enjoyed the drive and rest of the day.
The Shepherd Methodist Vacation School finished June 12 with the Neighbors theme. Sixty six students and teachers participated. Proceeds support Migrant Ministry in Isabella County.
