Inflationary finance denounced as immoral by Tyson at Spring Lake
Robert C. Tyson, chairman of the US Steel Finance Committee, told the Financial Executive Institute's Eastern area conference in Spring Lake New Jersey that printing-press techniques of financing fleeces creditors including savers and pensioners. He urged tax and expenditure cuts as the most feasible reform, warned of a spending spree, and critiqued progressive taxation for eroding private wealth while calling for meaningful reform. He likened current tax features to a Marxist threat to property rights and questioned union wage contracts with overtime pay.
