Voters Reject School Proposals in Shepherd District
In a tight election the Shepherd School District defeated a $770,000 bonding plan for a new elementary and junior high. Winn and Shepherd precincts split on millage and operating expense measures with incumbents Dearing and Wilberding re-elected to the Board as turnout lagged. Further budget cuts loom without new funds, and a Thursday board meeting will address crisis and possible new proposals.
