Rev Ostrom Honored At Conference Cane Presentation
Rev Charles Ostrom aged 93 received the Conference Cane as the oldest ministerial member at a morning session of the Methodist Conference last week. He entered the conference in 1904 after time with the Christian Crusaders and served in Michigan churches including Shepherd. He retired in 1936 but remains active, walking briskly to the post office and stores. He addressed the conference and sang an Indian Gospel song recalled from his early ministry. In education news the public shows apathy with 727 of 1811 eligible voters casting ballots for a school program. The Board of Education found meeting attendance to be low and warns a study may be delayed to assess support and funding.
