Shepherd High Band Wins Multiple Brass Solo Awards
Eight Shepherd High School Band members earned first place at the Brass Solo and Ensemble Festival in St Louis, with five second place and two third place awards. First place winners include Janet Root Cathy Hummel Eric Cohoon Jim Bush David Kelley Donn Gates and Jim Struble. Second place went to Jim Bush David Kelley Levon Coughlin Joyce Smith and Eric Cohoon. Third place honors were awarded to Fred Spencer and Ken Leffingwell. The group set a record for top results and two members also placed in the Greater Michigan All-Star selections: Doreen Spencer and David Kelley.
