Maple Syrup Festival Draws 2000 Strong At High School
Over 2000 attended the Maple Syrup Festival at the high school cafeteria from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event ran out of pancake flour sausage and bacon as well as maple syrup despite large preparations. The Old Car Parade drew interest with restoration showcases by the Central Michigan Old Car Club on Wright Avenue. Queen Carla Eisenberger was crowned by village president George Grim at 10:00 a.m. and her court modeled festival elegance. Final finances are not yet set but the Swimming Pool Fund is expected to rise, with talk of expanding next year’s event.
