Generals fall 36 0 at home to Delano in opener
Delano Tigers overpower Shafter Generals 36 to 0 in the home opener. Delano opened with a 76 yard run by Jose Vasquez and a 65 yard scoring run, building a 14 0 lead in the first quarter. Shafter’s lone late first quarter threat was nullified by an illegal shift, and the Generals were unable to establish the run or stop the Tigers. Delano added two more scores before halftime, then a safety in the fourth gave the final margin. Generals quarterback Greg Gafner threw 13 24 for 137 yards with three interceptions and was sacked six times.
