Pfc. Bobby Nixon 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Nixon of 18463 Shafter highway, arrived at Gifu Japan on Aug 27 after leaving Aug 13. He is a typist clerk with the Third Marine Division serving a three year hitch. Nixon trained at San Diego and Camp Pendleton and graduated Shafter High School in 1952. He previously worked for the Shafter Press and Shafter Theater before enlisting March 16, 1953.
Stg George Cooper son of Mr and Mrs Floyd Cooper 329 Manne Ave arrived home Sunday morning from Kingsville Texas where he has been practicing flying jets He will remain home until Sept 20 and from here will undergo further training in jets at El Toro Cooper has served with the Marine Corps for three years with his initial training at Pensacola Fla where he received his wings Houseguest in his home is Miss Sarah Garrett of Pensacola who is here on an indefinite visit.
