Jack Hare, director of the Shafter Veterans' Service Center, named as Re employment Committeeman to represent the U S Department of Labor. Veterans unable to regain jobs after service should first contact the California State Employment Service with VETs staff assisting employers. If negotiations fail, cases go to Jack Hare’s office, then possibly federal court via U S District Attorney.

Miss Freda Holsonbake daughter of Mr and Mrs Luther Holsonbake of Rosedale and Ray Fowler married quietly in Mexico on July 18 1947. The bride wore a gray suit with orchid corsage and was given in marriage by her brother P F C Dan Max Holsonbake US Marine. Fowler is son of Mr and Mrs James Fowler of Shafter and has served with the Marines in San Diego. The couple will live in Rosedale and Fowler works for Superior Oil Company. Mrs Fowler is granddaughter of Mr and Mrs H H Tate of this city and many friends wish them happiness.
