Shafter Dance Club held the first fall season dance at Veteran Memorial Hall on October 13. The evening featured a Presidential campaign theme with Democrat and Republican posters and party pins, red white and blue streamers, and music by Larry Foster Jr. of Bakersfield. New officers announced were Don Ruggenberg president Phil Jeffries secretary Marvin Lane treasurer. Committee members included Ralph Boel Tut Anderson and Herbert Neuman. About 50 couples attended.
