Diary fragment recounts the Invader’s desperate voyage from Hawaii to the California coast. Storms battered the vessel with 36 foot seas, gear failed, distress signals used, and Coast Guard tows them into San Francisco at night. The captain and crew endured rough seas, scoured the harbor for rescue, and later reached Shafter after visiting Frisco.
