Kern County and Oregon Mount Hood Compare, Says Mayor Schrunk
Portland Mayor Terry D. Schrunk claims a Kern County oil core proves a geological link to Oregon’s Mount Hood. The core, a gift from Kern County Supervisor Floyd L. Ming during Pacific Air Lines pre inauguration events, is said to originate deep underground, as Mount Hood is high above Kern County. Schrunk jokes the core keeps papers down on his desk as visitors inquire about the claim.
