Cotton Seed Demonstration Field Day At Shafter
About 275 cotton gin managers and researchers visited the U S Station at Shafter for the annual demonstration field day. John Turner and his team highlighted 1956 experiments across 23 sites with results on breeding irrigation defoliation weed and insect control fertilization and mechanization. Distributors hosted a box lunch as H L Pomeroy explained cooperation between ginners growers and the seed program funded by distributors and university grants.
