Generals Cross Country team shines at CIF State Meet
Shafter High School Generals boys and girls cross country teams competed at the California State Championships at Woodward Park Fresno. Angel Gil led boys with 16:08 for 40th in Division II. Nicolette Aldape led girls with 20:03, edging Cambria Tudor 20:04. Both teams undefeated in league and SSL titles for the fourth straight year. Girls finished 22nd overall. boys 13th, their best Division III/II state finish yet. Coach Lundgren praised the squad for rebuilding after roster losses and noted strong futures with most runners returning for 2012.
