Shafter High School sent a team to the We the People competition at Golden Valley High School on Saturday December 3. The team coached by Pablo Reyes placed third overall in the 20 district, with strong showings in five of six hearings including a second place in hearing two.

Christmas around the world trees light Shafter Depot Museum
The Shafter Depot Museum hosts its annual Christmas around the world display from December 3 with sessions on December 10 17 and 23. Dozens of organizations decorate trees representing Israel Hawaii United States Sweden France and more. Visitors vote for favorites and winners are announced at closing. The exhibit showcases local history including train memorabilia cotton and potato displays.

Cotton Research Station to Close After Federal Bill
