Shafter Chamber plans Christmas parade and lights
The Shafter Chamber of Commerce outlines plans for a downtown Christmas parade and lighting ceremony on Friday December 5. Co chairs Don Zachary and Wayne Wood invite civic groups businesses churches schools and individuals to participate. Santa arrives by horse drawn carriage after the lights switch on at Central and James at 6 p.m.

Foggy Weather Beacons On I 5 In San Joaquin Valley
The Department of Transportation announces four inch white reflector markers placed along Interstate 5 and other San Joaquin Valley highways to aid drivers in fog. Beacons are on the right shoulder at even spacing with three markers, then two, then one, guiding motorists to an off ramp 700 feet beyond the final marker.
