New Shafter Fire Station 32 Opens in Ceremonial Event
Supervisor Roy Ashburn opened Kern County Fire Department Station 32 in Shafter on Thursday November 20 with remarks from Kern County Fire Chief Tom McCarthy and Shafter Mayor Don Zachary. Hayden Construction built the facility costing about 599803 dollars, replacing a 50 year old adobe station. The Sunset site move prompted the Memorial Flag Pole Monument relocation, originally erected in 1976 for the nations bicentennial. Tours followed the ribbon cutting and refreshments were served.
