AT&T California to raise basic long distance rates
The California Public Utilities Commission authorized AT&T California to increase basic long distance, coin phone, WATS and 800 service rates on an interim basis and subject to refund. The approved increase is 8.391 million dollars about 0.4 percent, with a 14 percent return on ratebase. Unresolved items include a holdback of 5.754 million pending staff audit and continued expense allocations for Western Electric and related operations.
