Casey Urges Kern County Vote For Water Agency Contract
Assemblyman Jack T. Casey urged Kern County residents to vote for the Kern County Water Agency Contract with California at the November election. He said only water receiving areas will pay the project costs, with zones of benefit facing a tax of over 5 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation for administration, while current tax remains 3 cents. He noted some areas will pay nothing under the plan and cited a Central Valley Project study as backing his view that water is the most precious resource.
