Shafter Parenting Fair Expands With New Exhibitors
The first Shafter Parenting Fair grows to more than 20 local and Kern County service providers with exhibits at Shafter High School from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. A DARE graduation for about 100 sixth graders follows at 7 p.m. The event aims to connect residents with health counseling loans and child care resources, with a concert opening at 5:15 p.m. and organizers led by Mayor Cathy Prout and Police Chief Greg Greeson.
