Richland Lerdon school board approves deficit plan for 1991-92
The Richland Lerdon School District Board of Trustees approved a 1991-92 deficit reduction plan to save about 275000 by transferring funds from reserves and trimming programs. The plan aims to curb a 463000 shortfall, with potential fringe benefit savings under review and possible layoffs discussed for January if needed. A public hearing is set for June 17.

10-Gallon Club honors high blood donors in Shafter
The Houchin Community Blood Bank explains the 10-Gallon Club for donors of 10 gallons or more. Notable members include Dolly Hei Carlos White Bob McDermott Joe Kirk and Edward Haag the top donor with 19 gallons. Blood drives occur twice yearly in Shafter with offices at 2600 G Street and 5950 Truxton Avenue.
