Bryce Comstock and Ruth Burley received home made Life Saver Ribbons after Bryce helped another swimmer at the Richland pool. Mrs. Nancy Diltz and Michael Ramey presented the ribbons. Safety Lane Report Shows Vehicle Test Results
Seventy three cars passed and 61 failed in the 134 Drivers Lane test. The top defect was lights with 33 failures, brakes 17, followed by defective exhausts, glass and tires. No citations were issued. drivers were advised to repair for safety. Of 52 cars with safety belts, 37 were in safe cars and 15 in unsafe. The lane was run by Sgt. Bob Nixon and Patrolman Dexter Ogan.

St Louis School Tax Vote Sparks Margin Fight
In St Louis a school election approved an extra 28 cents to reach 2.51 dollars, narrowly passed May 7.
