Eckman One of Oldest Growers in Shafter
Eckman, a Kern County farmer, arrived in Shafter in 1918 after business in Columbus Gino Fresno and San Francisco. He has raised potatoes and cotton and contributed to vineyard development since early days, once farming with his brother E. C. Eckman. He has also served as the first Scout Master in the Shafter district.
