Shafter varsity and junior squads swept North Hi in a Tuesday doubleheader. George Larson and Donald Bender combined for a three hit mound effort as Shafter rallied past the Stars 7 to 5, with Prender driving in two and Jim Rice adding an RBI single. The JV also won 8 to 5 as George Love homered in the sixth, and the frosh beat North High 5 to 3 behind Gene Lytle pitching.
