Local Students Visit Pacific Union College
Kern Academy students toured Pacific Union College Napa County during Academy Day from May 2 to 4. Participants included Elmer Nightingale class president Joyce Dirksen Wanda Ashmore Loren Nightingale Roger Fenderson Betty Huenegardt Virginia Huene gardt and accompanying teachers Mr and Mrs Harold Mauk Mr and Mrs Norman Nelson. The group joined seven other California Seventh Day Adventist academies for the visit with a stop in San Francisco visiting the Zoo and Golden Gate Park.

Kern Steam Plant Opens at Rosedale
Pacific Gas and Electric announces the Kern Steam Electric Plant near Bakersfield began operations delivering 101000 horsepower to its inter connected system. Pierces Fly to Visalia for Skating Party
Vernon Pierce the local jeweler was floor manager at a Church of Christ skating party in Visalia. Accompanied by his wife they flew up about 6 p.m. Skating lasted until 10 15 with fancy moves and they returned by 11 20. The flight offered clear views at 6000 feet of Bakersfield and Fresno.
