Water agencies react to 80 percent SWP allocation rise
The California DWR raised the State Water Project Table A allocation to 80 percent due to northern storms, with Kern County receiving 786 184 acre feet. Kern officials warn that federal restrictions still limit full entitlement and push reliance to groundwater banking amid four dry years and endangered fish constraints. A BDCP solution is cited as vital for sustained local jobs, farming, and the Bakersfield area's water reliability.
