The Southern Orthodox Missionary Baptist Church announces Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and preaching at 11:60 a.m. B T U at 7:00 a.m. Evening sermon at 8:00 p.m. Mid week prayer Wednesday 7:30 p.m. Workers conference Tuesday May 6 at 4:00 p.m. All welcome.
The Monday evening regular monthly meeting of the Pespinanty Minister's Association will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Bartel 341 Faber Avenue. All Shafter ministers are invited. Reverend Orval Seago is president of the Association.

Harper lists 9 45 a m Sunday School led by Walter Haag 11 00 a m Worship Service and a special sermon by the minister 6 30 p m Christian Endeavor with new officers in charge of services The installation of these officers occurred last Sunday and layman Joe Moody delivered a memorable message titled A layman looks at the Church The church plans to invite Moody back in the fall for a men's meeting with high expectations.
Last Sunday evening a candle lighting ceremony installed new Christian Endeavor officers led by Mrs Genevieve Craig, Kern County Union official. A program and group singing preceded the installation with remarks by James Carter of Bakersfield. Officers include Ella Mae Starrh president, Mary Montgomery vice president, Eunice Guenther secretary treasurer, Bob Haag devotional chairman, Philip Zachary lookout chairman, Dolores Enns social chairman, and Bill Kinman missionary chairman.
Mennonite Brethren Church at Corner California and Kern schedules a full Sunday with Sunday School at 9 30 morning worship at 10 45 baptismal service at 2 30 and a communion service after baptism. Evening worship at 7 30 and midweek meetings include men's chorus and sewing circle. Mission reports from Africa are planned.
The West Lerdo Rieker church led by Pastor Orval Seago invites all to Sunny School at 9:45 led by Mr John Bodgett with classes for all ages. Morning worship at 11 with sermon, N Y P S and children at 7. Evening evangelistic hour at 7 45 and mid week service at 7 30. Baptismal service Sunday at 3 at Wasco First Baptist Church sponsored by four Nazarene churches in Kern Zone.
