French and Jones families return from a Mexico trip as the Junior class at Shafter High School prepares an eight o clock talent show in the high gymnasium. Prizes shift from cash to trophies and plaques with silver pens for third place. Judges include Miss Marlene Hoffman among three, audience reaction key to winners.
Seven Shafter High School students will appear on a tele program on Station KBAK Channel 2 this Saturday in a Kern County Union High School series. Art instructor David March will introduce skills while students demonstrate clay tray making sculpturing leather work and figure study.
On March 18, the Rev. Paul Edwards Babbitt of Union Congregational Church will preach The Sufferings of Jesus and Our Suffering. Divine worship begins at 11 o'clock with the Junior Chancel choir directed by Richard Southwick and Mrs Southwick at the piano.
