Cotton Incorporated researchers led on farm demonstrations showing lower costs and higher yields by precise input use. Techniques include soil based nitrogen, limited preplant applications, side dressing, targeted herbicides, early varieties, and reduced insecticide and irrigation, yielding about $150 net profit per acre and 200 pounds of lint per acre.
