Urge More Care In Preparing Tax Returns
Collector of Internal Revenue Harry C. Westover appealed to Southern California taxpayers to improve tax return accuracy ahead of the March 15 deadline. He cited about 45 million dollars in unidentified checks and money orders, unsigned or misaddressed forms, and checks written so badly they are undecipherable. He warned that such errors delay proper credits and noted risks of checks separating from tax blanks during processing.
