Leonard H. Dargatz Rites Held in Buttonwillow
Funeral services for Leonard H. Dargatz 67 of Buttonwillow were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Shafter with Rev. Earl C. Gould officiating. He died February 26 after a long illness at Wasco Hospital. Dargatz, born October 23, 1897 in Anaheim, owned a Buttonwillow farm for 28 years and retired recently after 48 years in farming. Survivors include wife Frieda, son Oliver, daughters Opal Lee and Fern Sanford, brothers Hermon and Ewald, sister Martha Green, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Howard Green, Leander Peters, Kenyon Knourek, Hermon Dargatz, Ewald Dargatz, Burrell Lee. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Sanford and Ralph Anderson.
