Mrs. Tille Jackson of Los Angeles mother of Supervisor LeRoy Jackson was killed Saturday in a automobile accident on the San Bernardino Freeway near the Long Beach ramp. Rosary is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday at Mispagel Mortuary Hyde Park Westchester with funeral Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. and burial at 11 a.m. Holy Cross Cemetery.

Richland Board Accepts City Offer on Santa Fe Property
The Richland Board of Trustees took a $10,000 offer by the City of Shafter for property in the Santa Fe school tract under advisement. The site had been appraised at $36,750. Bruce Crawford noted only four teachers would leave this year, cancelled eastern recruiting, and a sabbatical policy was under consideration. Larry McCright Participates in North Vietnam Air Strike
Seaman Larry McCright USN son of Alberta McCright of Shafter California participated in retaliatory air strike operations on February 7 against North Vietnam. Council Starts Action on South Shafter Improvement
The council set a March 31 deadline for South Shafter Avenue residents to agree on a street widening plan. If not reached, the project will proceed to add five feet with curbs and gutters.
