Kern Crossroads Facility dedicated for juvenile care
The Kern County Board of Supervisors dedicated the new Kern Crossroads Juvenile Facility east of Shafter on Lerdo Highway. The 11.5 acre site will house 120 juvenile offenders with 74 employees. The building will reduce reliance on the California Youth Authority and features a nurse practitioner and medical care via Kern Medical Center.
