Land use fees may be going up in Kern County
Kern County Public Works proposes raising land use fees citing state mandates on landfills. If approved, single family home fees would rise from 27.50 to 57 dollars annually, with a July 9 decision expected. The plan aims to cover nearly seven million dollars in a 1990 91 solid waste budget shortfall due to mandated but unpaid state programs.
