Private Dozhier Home On Leave Before Next Duty
Private Jerry Dozhier is home on leave at his parents’ house in Shafter. After two weeks he reports to Lackland Air Force Base in Texas for patrol and narcotic dog handling training, then to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He served 13 months in Korea with a Special Reaction Team, trained in United States Army Military Police Aca demy, and earned honors. Dozhier notes SRT duties included protection near the Demilitarized Zone. He hopes to return to Shafter after his Army career and pursue law enforcement.
