Albert Louis DeWitte 76 of Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home Rutherfordton NC died July 16 1996 after a long illness. He was born in Washington State a former resident of Shafter and Hendersonville NC a GE retiree and WWII Army Air Corps veteran. Surviving son Louis B DeWitte of Santa Maria two daughters Mary Mitchell of Spindale NC Katina Eads of Costa Mesa a brother Valere De Witte of Shafter and multiple in laws and grandchildren. Graveside services were July 19 1996 at Middle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Bat Cave NC with Rev Michael Duncan and Rev Wade Huntley officiating. Visitation July 18 1996 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Crowe's Mortuary Rutherfordton NC.

Tragic Highway Crash Ends Promising Life of Julie Lahmeyer
Julie Nelson Lahmeyer of Auburn Washington died instantly in a two lane highway crash near Roseburg Oregon on July 7 1996. Her husband Van Lahmeyer and three others were injured. one passenger died. A multi culturally aware nurse educated at UCLA and West LA College she touched many through faith work and care for patients and parishioners. Her friends and family recall her hard work ethic compassion and wide love for others as a deep loss to all who knew her.
