Shafter city officials end a two year grace period for independent truckers to park within city limits. Beginning Aug 1, all local truckers must park outside the city. The 1994 ordinance aimed to curb complaints by restricting truck parking and required permits that expired at end of June.
On Monday the trial for the Wasco High School athlete shifted focus to timing by helicopter pilot Dennis Kirkpatrick of Westside Mosquito Abatement, with prosecutors seeking crucial corroboration for the key witness.
