Richland Summer School Carnival Ends First Session
Richland hosts a Friday carnival marking the end of the first summer session. Students played games and spent earnings from classroom work while clowns, contests, food, and fortune telling filled the event. Public hearing continued on zone change near Sierra Vista Park
Shafter Planning Commission kept open the public hearing to rezone land south of Ash Street and north of Los Angeles Street from R-1 to MHP adjacent to Sierra Vista Mobilehome Park. Chair Atkinson abstained as Michael Hair took over due to possible conflict. The hearing closed after little discussion and a vote approved the zone change.
