State and Federal Plan for San Luis Reservoir Use Pushed
San Joaquin leaders push a Kern Concept that would allow State construction of the San Luis dam and reservoir with federal involvement for major works of the San Luis Unit. The plan envisions reciprocal storage use, shared facilities, and a total project cost near 350 million dollars, with State control of the dam and mainlines. Study group members from Kings River, Chowchilla, Merced, and Tulare districts endorsed the concept for further review by the State Chamber Water Resources Committee.
