Wasco Boxing Club Eyes Expansion Amid Local Shows
Wasco Boxing Club plans a Shafter chapter if interest grows, with a $25 club fee plus $15 family training rates and required medicals. Ernie Chavez, Jr. Olympic silver Medalist, will compete at Golden Gloves Tulare January 21 22, while fourteen tentative Wasco shows and a major September tournament are slated. The gym remains under construction but action will start soon with trainees from beginners to advanced boxers, all aiming for 1984 Southern California Olympics representatives. Contact Neno J. Skip Russo at 758 4439 or visit 1235 G Street Wasco during gym hours.
